What To Do If You Suspect Your Child Has A Congenital Heart Disease
Take your child for checkup with your regular doctor, this can be either a General Practitioner or on outpatient doctor in the government hospitals/clinic.
If the doctor suspects that there is a likelihood of a congenital heart disease, he/she will refer the child to Paediatrician.
The paediatrician then does a through clinical examination of the heart. In addition, tests like the Chest-X-Ray and Electrocardiogram (ECG) may be done if deemed necessary.
Finally, to confirm the diagnosis and to determine the type of congenital heart disease an Echocardiography Examination (ECHO) can be done.
