  1. Treatment Examination
    • A heart patient will be referred to our society consultant/doctor at Women & Children Hospital, Likas Kota Kinabalu.
    • The doctor will check/examine the patient and at the same time will decide either further treatment or operation is needed.
    • *Note: Cardiologist to decide if the case need urgent operation and if that MOH slot are full at the moment, they will seek for SOSHF help to assist.
  2. Financial Assessment
    • During the certification or recommendation for surgery, the case will be referred for financial assessment by the social unit officer at Likas Hospital Welfare Unit, Kota Kinabalu.
  3. Consideration for Applications
    • A report containing full personal information of the patient, financial assessment and treatment conditions will be forwarded to the association's committee members for consideration.
  4. Transfer/ Submission of Approved Cases
    • Cases that have been approved for funding will be sent to a specific hospital for surgeries. Travel arrangements will be managed by social workers.
  5. Allowance for Accompanying Patients    
    • Accompanying patients (mostly for children under the age of 12) if necessary, will likely be considered for accommodation and meal allowances.
  6. Travel Allowance for Heart Patients    
    • The association will also consider applications for cardiac patient travel allowance.
